âIâve tried to bring Galatea to life, but it didnât work. Maybe you could?â Pygmalion begged.
âNo!â Aphrodite and Persephone shouted together.
He crossed his arms, looking angry. âWhy not?â
âBecause Galatea looks exactly like this evil girl we know. Her nameâs Medusa,â Aphrodite told him.
âLast time we saw her, she got turned into a stone statue in a forest,â added Persephone.
Pygmalion nodded, excited. âYes! I saw that statue when I went on a walk around Mount Olympus. When I came back, I created Galatea to look just like it.â
âHmm. I wonder if maybe that Medusa statue somehow put a spell on you? A spell to make you create Galatea with Medusaâs same powers,â Aphrodite said to Pygmalion. âSo sheâd make trouble and do evil stuff around here.â
âYeah! Before she became a statue, Medusa could turn living creatures to stone. With a single zap from her eyes!â Persephone said. âSo if we wake up Galatea, thereâs a chance she might zap you.â
The prince only smiled wider at his paper girlfriend. âIâm sure Galatea wouldnât do that. She looks super nice. And sooo beautiful!â He put both hands over his heart and sighed happily.
âHuh?â said Persephone. âNice? Beautiful?â
âBut sheâs frowny and has snake hair!â said Aphrodite.
âYeah, isnât it great? I like that sheâs so unusual.â Pygmalion gazed at Galatea with love in his eyes. âSheâs perfect.â
âAwww, thatâs actually kind of sweet,â said Aphrodite.
âYeah, I guess you really do love that paper girl,â said Persephone.
âThatâs what Iâve been trying to tell you!â said the prince. His eyes narrowed. âNow say a spell to make her come to life. Or else!â
